Dentures

If you have lost upper or lower teeth due to damage, tooth decay, or injury, our Lorain dental office provides partial and complete dentures to restore your smile and improve your lives. We provide affordable dentures in a variety of denture styles which include full dentures and partial dentures. Dr. Weitz will help you find best match for your denture needs.

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures are placed after the teeth have been removed and gum tissue has begun to heal. Complete dentures can be either "conventional" or "immediate.

Immediate complete dentures

Immediate dentures are made in advance and can be placed as soon as decaying teeth or damaged teeth are removed. This ensures that a person does not have to go without teeth during the gum tissue healing time. Immediate dentures should only be considered as a temporary solution as bones and gums shrink over time, especially after tooth removal. After healing, the denture would need remaking or refitted (relining).

Partial Dentures

Partial denture consists of a removable denture with a metal base to which metal clasps hold the partial in place. In the toothless areas teeth are added by pink tooth colored acrylic to the metal. Partial dentures can sometimes be connected by non-metal framework that holds dentures in place in the mouth. Partial dentures can be for upper or lower jaws.
